Hey folks. long time no update. I've been looking at career choices as you all know.
It seems whichever way my path leads, the forks all lead to military training. they pay me to learn and make certian i stay in shape, and start me at 30,000 a year, with every benefit you can get? Well... alright.
but there are like 5 BILLION fucking jobs within the core. for the longest time i had it narrowed down to the following:
Imagery technician: think military journalist/advertiser/photographer/camera man/video/audio editor . I have training in photography and digital imaging, so I figured from the start this was my best choice.
I've decided against it, simply due to the civie jobs you can get afterwards are all contract jobs. which is the whole reason i'm joining tis gig to be rid of. just to have stable work i'd be foreced to stay military the rest of my life, whether i find its for me or i do not.
Avionic technician: air craft mechanics and systems. that's just damned cool.
I decided against it, because I had the choice not to take it really. this was my last chance amidst the ones offered if i failed the aptitude tests badly . the reasoning is simple. While I'm sure i could learn to be good with machines and mechanics, i don't know a damned thing about them, and i don't particurlaly care. mechanics of any sort have never intrigued me, hence why i still barely know anything about my car, let alone fixing jet planes.
Mty final decision was the third field I'd looked at. something I'd always been interested in learning, the job prospects should i learn to detest the military are rich and will always be high in demand, and its a 72 week course in the military (that's like super long by their standards. their image techs learn what they learn in 89 days. that's like telling me the 3 years of college i've taken could have been completed in about 3 months by these guys....) The only thing stpping me from having announced this earlier was my aptitude scores. this is a job with some big math skills needed as its all about , sio i was rather worried about actually qualifying for it. Iqualified for all three and any other should i wished to go btw. ^____^ wiring and networking, encrypting and encoding.... well, There's just SO much this profession deals with its uncanny, so rather than re- explain it, i'll just give the link.

I'm going for my medical tomorrow, I've nothing to worry about there. they'll also be doing the interview, so they may change this post on me should things convince me otherwise, but i doubt they will, there's apparently about 20 slots open for this job, and they're specifically looking for them. So as it seems to be looking, looks like i'm gonna end up in the navy. I find the idea fascinating for some reason.
Its likely they'll find a slot for me shortly, likely as early as january when i start basic training.
